Snow Daaaaaze

We've now been out of school for A WHOLE WEEK!! It began Sunday, March 2, with something in between a thunderstorm and an ice storm. I've actually heard it being called, "thundersleet." It was literally thundering, lightning, and sleeting all at once. We fell asleep to the sound of steady sleeting and woke up to a blanket of ice. It looked beautiful, but was impossible to drive in unless you had a large truck. I've never seen roads so rough, and they stayed that way all week. Can we say, "stir crazy?!"

Nora and I of course took full advantage of our day(s) together. We played, napped, ate and ate and ate some more.  Snow is pretty hard on Logan's animals. He works extremely hard to keep them all fed and somewhat warm. He did take a break long enough to take us to play in the snow. Nora wasn't a huge fan of the cold, but she sure did look cute (of course). Logan took her down a small hill on a sled, which she seemed to like. She ended up spending the day with Gran Gran while Logan and I did some sledding on our own. Great time!!!
We headed to Patti's mid-week. She was having Nora-withdrawals. I heard Nora talking one afternoon and couldn't find her anywhere downstairs. I realized her voice was coming from upstairs. I guess she decided if she was going to climb, she may as well head to the top. It scared me to death when I found her, but she was quite proud of her accomplishment. Just call me Mother of the Year!!

Nora stood by herself once or twice this week. She also finally said, "Da Da!" Her favorite new word is "book" (look).  She says it as she points around the room. She now says Max's name as soon as she wakes up, and every dog she meets is Max. She also loves to go to the front of the house and yell at us from behind the double doors. It's a fun game.
