Nora Ellen

I love her name.  For a while I had my heart set on Bettye Claire, Bettye being after my maternal grandmother.  She died soon after I was born, but I've never heard anything but wonderful things about her.  I love family names and wanted to not only do it because I think the name is cute, but also for my mom.  However, Logan wouldn't give in.  That's quite alright though.  I've liked the name Nora for years, and it's Logan's great grandmother's name.  She will also be a fourth generation Ellen-after my grandmother-Mary Ellen, my aunt-Ellen Forrest, and my sister-Sarah Ellen.  So....Nora Ellen Roberts it is.  Let the monogramming begin!!

At my appointment with Dr. Dulaney today, I told her I didn't think I was feeling movement yet.  She did the ultrasound and found lots of movement so I knew everything was fine. Then as soon as I sat up after the ultrasound, I felt her move!!  For the first time, I knew I was feeling the baby.  It was pretty amazing.  I've gained 11 pounds and still feel really good.

It's A Girl!!

I absolutely could not wait to find out what I was having. It didn't matter either way, I just wanted to know. However, we couldn't just go find out by looking at an ultrasound. My sister was dying to do a revealment party. So, that is what we did. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. My mom, Logan and I went for the ultrasound. It was Logan's first. Sarah waited at home anxiously for the call from the doctor. We watched the screen and heard that sweet little heartbeat until she got to the sex of the baby. Logan, Mom and I shut our eyes as Dr. Dulaney found what she was looking for. She then took the phone in the other room to tell Aunt Sarah. Dr. Dulaney returned to tell us that my sister could "scream really loud." I actually had a feeling then that it was a girl. Everything looked great on the ultrasound.

Of course, it took us an hour and 25 minutes just to get home from Germantown. It was quite a ride, not to mention the sealed envelope containing ultrasound pics that was riding between us. We figured we had made it this far, we wouldn't ruin the surprise. There was a wonderful crowd of family and friends waiting on us at Sarah & Dustin's. Everyone but Sarah went to the backyard. Sarah went out front and let the balloons go. We looked at the sky until we saw the balloons, PINK balloons. I'm pretty sure I heard Patti scream with excitement. She was secretly hoping for a girl. We are all excited to say the least. It was an awesome way to find out such wonderful news!!

Thank you, Sarah and Dustin, for taking the time to do something so special. Baby R is a lucky girl. Yep, she is still Baby R until we agree on a name. Now I'm just waiting to feel her move. I'm 19 weeks, and Dr. Dulaney says it should happen anytime. Pregnancy is so exciting!
